The 4th grade students learned about the Aztec Sun Stone. The Aztec Sun Stone was an enormous calendar carved from a stone that was 12 feet high, 4 feet thick and weighed 24 tons! The Aztec Sun Stone has been the inspiration for many people to create artwork revolving around suns. Check out the fourth graders work!!!
Next the fourth graders learned about color theory. We explored the color wheel and learned about primary, secondary, intermediate, analogous, and complimentary colors. The students used different kinds of line, another element of art, to create their color wheel. They finished off their project by turning a picture of themselves into a silhouette.
