The third grade students started off the year with these adorable lizards for their square one art project. We learned about shape, color, texture, and shading with this project.
Next, the third graders studied color theory. In this project the students learned about tints (a color mixed with white) and shades (a color mixed with black). The students were assigned a color and had to create three different tints and three different shades of that color. They took their paintings and created these fun ice cream cones inspired by the famous pop artist Wayne Thiebaud and his ice cream cone paintings.
